Textile Postcard Project Week #40

July 1st - 7th

Yes, Brer Rabbit or Brer Hare must feature as they did in story books we had as children.

Brer Rabbit

The other side of the coin was how we (my brother and I) loved going rabbiting with our father.
We took part in the 'catch' which need not be explained. At that time (1940s & 50s) rabbits lived in very large warrens with a network of burrows. They were in plague proportions. My mother, regularly, cooked rabbit stew...a meal that I did not care for very much.
Back to my 'rabbit' or 'bunny' applique motif which would be suitable to stitch onto a child's clothing.  It is made from cotton fabric and thread.

A clear view of stitching!
