Textile Postcard Project Week # 95

July 28th - August 3rd 2019

Commercial fabric makes the background of this card

What a pretty appliqué tile. It was made by my Swedish Penfriend, Gunilla Borgeson. She had attached it to a greeting card for me. Gunilla has used a bright coloured print and added a few red beads.

Textile Postcard Project Week # 94

Greeting Card

July 21st -27th 2019

This week I have used a Greeting Card which was sent to me by my Swedish Pen Friend, Gunilla. She is a Textile Artist and made this interesting card for me. She has used machine stitching, lace, painted glitter fabric for the rose, stamping of several circles as well as thread and cord to embellish it. I am absolutely sure she would have had great fun doing it.

Textile Postcard Project Week # 93

July 14th - 20th 2019

The stenciled pattern for this week's postcard which has been inspired by the famous Dog Fence that runs across Australia. The hexagon shapes represent the wire netting.

Textile Postcard Project Week #92

July 7th - 13th 2019

A sampler from 'way back' is the feature of this postcard. Black and tan colours always look attractive together.

Vanishing muslin was stitched to black wool felt, then ironed to cause a 'break-down' of the muslin. A piece of tea-dyed vanishing muslin was stitched on top. It did not break-down with heat as expected. I can only presume this was a result of the tea dyeing.

Close up photo shows the stitching and 'ragged' break down of the muslin.
