A sampler from 'way back' is the feature of this postcard. Black and tan colours always look attractive together.
Vanishing muslin was stitched to black wool felt, then ironed to cause a 'break-down' of the muslin. A piece of tea-dyed vanishing muslin was stitched on top. It did not break-down with heat as expected. I can only presume this was a result of the tea dyeing.
Close up photo shows the stitching and 'ragged' break down of the muslin.
